Custom Fields
In AgencyZoom, everything from Leads to Customers to Contacts have default “Fields” where you can input important pieces of data, such as name, phone number, date of birth etc. But you can also add Custom Fields, allowing you to input data unique to your agency.
For instance, say you wanted to be able to save the website URLs belonging to business leads. We don’t have a default field for this- but you could add a Custom “Website” field for Leads and Customers.
To view or edit your Agency’s custom fields, click MyAgency (the gear in the bottom left of AgencyZoom), then click “Manage Custom Fields”.
Custom Field Category
You can set up custom fields for various sections of AgencyZoom. As a note, when you create a custom field in the “Lead” tab it will prompt you, asking if you’d like to set it up for Customer Information as well, and vice versa.

Custom Field Types
When adding a Custom Field, it will display multiple options for the “Type” of Custom Field. Below is a brief description of each Type.
-Text: The field will display as a standard text box, where users can enter any combination of text or numbers.
-Numbers: The field will display as a text box, but will only allow you to input numbers.
-URL: The field will display as a text box with a globe button- clicking the globe button instantly opens any valid URL entered in the field.
-Date: A valid date can be manually typed into the field- or clicking the field will open a calendar pop up where you can select the date.
-Multiple Choice: Clicking the field will open a dropdown, where you can select multiple options at once from the listed choices.
-Single Choice: Clicking the field will open a dropdown where you can only select one option from the listed choices.
How to Add a Custom Field
Method 1: From Manage Custom Fields
The primary way to add a custom field is from the Manage Custom Fields page. Click MyAgency (the gear in the bottom left of AgencyZoom), then click “Manage Custom Fields”.
Select the tab for the type of Custom Field you’d like to create (Lead, Customer, Service, etc). Then click +Add a New Field.
After that the Custom Field has been added to your list, it will appear as an option when editing that Lead, Customer, Contact, or Service Ticket. From that Manage Custom Fields list you can also edit the order of your Custom Fields, edit Custom Fields, and Delete custom fields from this list.
Method 2: From within a Lead/Customer/Contact
A secondary way to add a Custom Field is from within the file of a Lead, Customer, or Contact. When viewing any of those three, you’ll notice a gear icon above the listed fields. Clicking this gear icon will display your Custom Fields of that type, allow you to switch them on or off, or allow you to add a new one by clicking +Add a New Field.
Lead & Customer Custom Field Mapping
In addition to there being a tab for each Custom Field type, there’s one extra tab called “Lead & Customer Custom Field Mapping”. Essentially, this section works similarly to field mapping an AMS system, or an imported CSV of Leads.
On the left side of the tab are your Lead Custom Fields, and are the left are dropdowns- each dropdown allowing you to select from your Customer Custom Fields. What field you select in the dropdown to the right, determines where data from the fields on the left will carry over to when a customer is sold.
So for instance, for the image below, the first example- the Lead Custom Field Test has been field mapped to an equivalent field- Test 2. So when a lead is sold, any data in the field test, will carry over to the customer custom field Test 2.
However, in the second example no Customer Custom field is field mapped. So if a Lead is sold, any data in the “Test Both” field will be missing from the Customer account that’s created.
Note: Lead Custom Fields has two sections, Lead Information, and Lead Details. There’s no functional difference between these two sections- except that Lead Details Custom Fields will always display before Lead Information Custom Fields.
